It’s time to register for the HOH5K, which raises money for college scholarships awarded to NBJH alumni. The whole family can join in the fun on Saturday, May 5. The race, which includes microchip timing, begins at 8 a.m. An obstacle course/fun run for children 11 and under will begin after the 5K. Visit the website for more information and to register.

Gift Card Plus Open Through May 1

Shopping for mom or a grad? Or, what about end-of-year gifts? Why not use Gift Card Plus to make your dollar go even farther. Gift Card Plus revenue is used for PTO programming and events, publishing the calendar, the Traveling Art Show, and a donation to the Homer O. Harvey Scholarship Fund.

All orders must be submitted to your school representative by Tuesday, May 1.  Online orders will be accepted thru Thursday, May 3. Orders will be available for pickup or delivery by Friday, May 11. Download the order form or shop online. Click here for link and directions to online shopping.

The Glenbrooks Present "The Little Mermaid"

Glenbrook students will present a Disney classic, “The Little Mermaid,” at 7 p.m. April 26-28 in the GBN CPA. There will be a 2 p.m. matinee performance on Saturday, April 28, where audience members can meet the cast after the show. 

Based on one of the most beloved stories and the classic animated film, “The Little Mermaid” is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs. Tickets cost $15 and are available at

Northbrook Celebration of Cultures

The Community Relations Commission in partnership with the North Suburban YMCA is hosting a Celebration of Cultures Sunday, May 6 from noon to 4 p.m. at the North Suburban YMCA, 2705 Techny Road. Activities include a performance by the Chicago Folklore Ensemble, a demonstration of the game of cricket, food trucks featuring international cuisine and more. Visit the website for details.
