This approach allows us to provide information about community programs in a way that is environmentally friendly and cost-effective. Free Hockey Lesson

The Northbrook Bluehawks Hockey Team will offer a free hockey lesson for boys and girls ages 3 to 9 years old from 2:40 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. on Saturday, November 10 at the Northbrook Sports Center, 1730 Pfingsten Road. All participants must pre-register by visiting the Northbrook Park District website, Registration Code is 8823.

Travel Basketball Tryouts

Boys and girls in grades three through eight are invited to try out for Spartan Sports Travel Basketball Sept. 23 and Sept. 27. Download the flyer for times and dates.

GBN Boys Feeder Basketball Tryouts
Boys in third, fourth and fifth grade are invited to try out for the GBN Feeder Basketball teams on Oct. 9 and 11. Download the flyer for details.


The North Shore YMCA is offering three STEAM workshops for grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Download the flyer for details.

Plein-Air Painting Festival

Come to downtown Northbrook between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 to see artists as they paint the sunset and enjoy live music. Artwork will be on display and for purchase, live music and painting demonstrations from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 and Sunday, Sept. 30 at the Village Green. Parent Night on Student Anxiety

A local counseling center, Inspire, will present a panel discussion for parents on back-to-school anxiety at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25. Mother-Son Date Night

Join the Northbrook Park District for a memory-making night on Oct. 5. RC Juggles will entertain children and adults. Open to ages 4 to 12 with an adult. See the flyer for details.

'Curious George and the Golden Meatball"

Join this inquisitive, lovable monkey on his adventure that is sure to leave you singing and swinging down the aisles! The family-friendly show will be presented Saturdays at 10 a.m and 1 p.m. Oct. 6 through Nov. 10, and three weekday performances at the Northbrook Theater. Download the flyer for details.

Enroll in Piven Theater Classes

Sign up today for a Piven Theatre Workshop. There are classes for grades 3 through 8 in subjects ranging from theatre games to improv. Check the flyer for details.

Northbrook Action Baseball

Baseball leagues for boys and girls ages preschool through 2nd grade and through 3rd grade for girls are now forming.
