Our hope is that these web pages will provide teachers, parents, and community members with important information about the supports and services that Northbrook School District 28 can offer to children who qualify for one of our programs.

The Student Services Department in District 28 strives to implement a strong network of services in order to allow each student to reach their greatest potential. District 28 is committed to educational excellence and continuous achievement for all learners. We recognize the importance of providing a quality educational experience to all children, including those with high ability, special needs, or learning English as a new language.

Important Dates

Early Childhood Screening -  Children will participate in a play-based screening in the areas of cognition, language, fine and gross motor skills, social-emotional functioning, and adaptive skills.  Screenings are by appointment only.  Screenings are generally held on the third Friday of the month. To schedule a screening, please contact Nancy Jones, Administrative Assistant for Early Childhood at 847-504-3809.  

Monday, Feb. 20 - Sensory-friendly movie "Zootopia" will be screened at 1 p.m. at the Northbrook Public Library. Parent Advisory Council for Student Services Meet and Greet at 3 p.m. in the Pollak Room A at the library.

Sunday, March 19 -
Sensory Hour noon to 1 p.m. at the Northbrook Public Library. A sensory-friendly hour with special activities.
